Edea Kramer (Record Keeper)

A bewitching sorceress who wielded vast magic powers to bring Galbadia under her control. She harbors a deep-seated hatred of SeeD, and she works tirelessly to see them destroyed.

Character profile

Edea is an enemy and a playable character in Final Fantasy Record Keeper who could initially be recruited during the Challenge Event Broken Chains as the First Time Reward for completing the event's Galbadia Garden on the Classic difficulty, this being a reference to Final Fantasy VIII where after the battle at the Garden she became a guest character.

Overview[]

Though Edea draws from much the same pool of equipment as Rinoa, the former has a much more focused skillset consisting primarily of black and arcane magic. Her statistical progression mirrors that of Krile from Final Fantasy V, yet her inclusion gives the Final Fantasy VIII delegation another source of offensive firepower. Edea suffers from a gross lack of Speed and should be supported with fast attackers and buffers who can give her the time she needs to cast spells.

Boss[]

Edea first appeared as a boss within the later dungeons of the To Slay a Sorceress event. Like her source, Edea attacked with powerful magic, her role seemingly to stall the party from progressing through the event. She occasionally cast Protect and Shell on herself to soften the blows, but with a strong party, she was easily vanquished.

Later upgrades to the game backend placed Edea, together with Seifer, as the final boss of the Record of Galbadia Garden, Part 3. Here, she added powerful spells including Maelstrom, which deals Gravity-type damage to the party. Defeating the pair unlocks Zell's Hero Record.

Abilities[]

Edea can use Black Magic abilities up to rarity rank 5, Darkness abilities up to rarity rank 5, Sharpshooter abilities up to rarity rank 5, and Witch abilities up to rarity rank 5.

Her default Soul Break is Astral Punch, which at the expense of one Soul Gauge segment deals two magic non-elemental attacks to one target.
