Edea is an enemy and a playable character who could initially be recruited during the Challenge Event Broken Chains as the First Time Reward for completing the event's Galbadia Garden on the Classic difficulty, this being a reference to Final Fantasy VIII where after the battle at the Garden she became a guest character.
