The Earth Eater (アースイーター, Āsuītā?) is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy X.

The Earth Eater appears as an optional boss exclusive to the Advance and Matrix Software releases, encountered in the Dragons' Den. It is a very powerful enemy that attacks with a powerful physical attack as well as Megaton Punch which ignores Instant Death immunity.
Final Fantasy X[]

The Earth Eater appears as an optional boss encountered at the Monster Arena after having bred two Area Conquest monsters. It has extremely high physical attack, hitting with a powerful physical attack as well as Megaton Punch, and when on its back, will counter all attacks with Flare. It comes with Auto-Reflect, so most magic attacks are useless against it.

The Earth Eater appears as an enemy encountered in the Dead Dunes. It is non-aggressive when encountered at night. Defeating 30 Earth Eaters causes the Last One to become the Earth Eater Ω.
Final Fantasy Dimensions[]
The Earth Eater appears as an optional boss encountered at a secret location to the west of Castle Avalon. It can use Absorb Magic to nullify most spells cast against it.
