Use[]

Earth is one of the weaker elements for the player to use, as they only have access to three methods of inflicting damage with the element, and most enemies will nullify the element outright, or absorb it. As the spell Quake also hurts the players party unless they are geared for the element, and there are better methods of dealing damage to enemies with other elements, Earth is largely unneeded.

For protection, if the player is fighting against an enemy or boss that uses primarily Earth-elemental attacks, such as the Earth Dragon, they can use the Gaia Gear to absorb the attacks or use Float or Angel Wings to avoid the attack outright. The player will not be able to protect against the earliest instance of Earth-elemental damage, which is the Magnitude 8 from the Hill Gigas at Zozo. Having Gaia Gear for when traversing the Cave to the Sealed Gate is highly recommended as the player will run into Outcasts quite often, who will use the Lifeshaver ability, as well as on the Floating Continent due to the ability being commonly used by the Misfit enemy there.
