Oh? Unusual to see people out here... We're trying to catch some sandfish, but they're not biting.
Dyce at Nam-Yensa Sandsea
Dyce is a minor character and merchant in Final Fantasy XII. He travels the world of Ivalice with his chocobo selling wares and is encountered in various points of the game.
He can be first encountered when the party is on their way across the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea, next to the Gate Crystal. Next, he is seen in the Nam-Yensa Sandsea, and after the party reaches the Tomb of Raithwall, he will appear there. Dyce is lastly seen at the Balfonheim Port, where he remains for the rest of the game.
The original version of the game has a mistake concerning Dyce; when encountered in the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea, he can be seen wearing green clothes, while later encounters properly show him with dark clothes and tattoos on his head. This is fixed in The Zodiac Age.
If the party always ignores Dyce, he has different dialogue when spoken to in Balfonheim for the first time.
Dyce is met next to the Gate Crystal when the party first crosses the Sandsea. After the party has progressed passed this point, he will no longer be there.
Dyce is found at the end of Nam-Yensa Sandsea, near the entrance to Tomb of Raithwall. After the party has progressed passed this point, he will no longer be there.
Dyce is met in the area leading to Cerobi Steppe near the Gate Crystal. The player can actually access him before going to Archades by taking a chocobo from Phon Coast across Tchita Uplands to reach Cerobi Steppe.
