The Immortal Flames was going to hold "The Calamity Retold", military exercises inspired by the imperial invasions that took place years ago. Dural Tharal planned to interview people about their experiences of that time and invites Warrior of Light to accompany him so that they can offer another perspective on the subject.

Thanking the Warrior of Light for his opinion on the interviews, Dural Tharal declares that he would next go in search of a mysterious minstrel who was strumming songs about Calamity. After greeting the Warrior of Light, the wandering minstrel begins to stroke his lyre.[2]

When major publications are invited to the Manderville Gold Saucer to write articles to promote the Campaign, Dural Tharal is the reporter representing the Mythril Eye.

The attendant Ollier explained that he wants each of them to write a piece exposing the charm of the place for their respective audiences. He then reveals that a mammet hunt has been organized for the guests, and that the reporter who finds the mammets of Godbert Manderville will get an exclusive interview with the owner of the Gold Saucer.

Since Kipih Jakkya of The Raven was accompanied by Warrior of Light, Dural Tharal allied with Petyr Winsome of the Harbor Herald. In the end Dural and Petyr lost the competition only finding one mammet against Kipih's three.[3]
