The Dreadnought is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2. It is smaller in size compared to the Dreadnought from Final Fantasy XIII. This is one of the few monsters that has more HP than its counterpart in the previous game.
Stats[]
Battle[]
The Dreadnought uses physical attacks and can remove individual status ailments with Steam Clean, after a long period of charging. It will be unable to attack during this period, so inflicting multiple status ailments will prove beneficial. It is vulnerable to a single cast of Deprotect and Deshell.
The Dreadnought stays on screen after it is defeated, like most bosses.
Paradigm Pack[]
The Dreadnought is a Commando. It innately halves physical and magic damage, and naturally has high HP. If all-potent is used, it will have around 800 points in Strength, around 250 points in Magic and around 11,000 HP, making for a good pseudo-Sentinel.
Dreadnought's Feral Link is based on its Magic stat, and is thus not strong. The Dreadnought is cheap to max out, requiring 31 Engines, 46 Boosters and 23 Generators, costing about 160,000 gil. When the Dreadnought crystal is captured, the camera on-screen will zoom in to the Dreadnought's face.

Etymology[]
Dreadnoughts were a type of battleship popular in the first half of the 20th century before the advent of the aircraft carrier made them obsolete. They were gigantic heavily armored ships noted for an "all-big-gun" design that allowed for great firing range while being well-protected. The term "dreadnought" comes from the first major ship of this design, the 1906 HMS Dreadnought. The word means "fear nothing".
