Double Shield block bug

The Double Shield block bug in Final Fantasy VI involves a shield that can block the Phoenix Down item.

A character should be equipped with a shield that can block attacks, such as Paladin's Shield. In battle, another character should use a Phoenix Down on the character who is wearing the shield. The target of Phoenix Down will block it once, but moments later will block it once again with a differently colored shield. There is a bugfix patch that players can use to fix this bug on the SNES version.
