Many enemies have modified versions that appear and largely act identical, but may have minor alterations such as differing resistances. For the purpose of this gallery, common recurring variants are listed with the baseline version of the enemy if applicable. Recurring variants:

  • Bright (ブライト, Buraito?)
  • Charmed (耐魔の, Taima no?)
  • Dimensional (ディメンション, Dimenshon?)
  • Erratic (耐魔の, Taima no? or 耐力の, Tairyoku no?)
  • Rugged (耐力の, Tairyoku no?)
  • Heretic (ヘレティック, Heretikku?)
  • Lunatic (ルナティック, Runatikku?)
  • Magic-Resistant (魔の, Ma no?)
  • Power-Resistant (力の, Ryoku no? or 耐力の, Tairyoku no?)

  1. Heretic Manikins come in several forms but are not identified by name. Variations include Aerith, Bartz, Cait Sith, Cid, Cloud, Cloud of Darkness, Cyan, Edge, Eiko, Emperor, Exdeath, Faris, Firion, Fujin, Garnet, Hope, Irvine, Jecht, King, Krile, Laguna, Lightning, Lilisette, Onion Knight, Papalymo, Penelo, Prishe, Ramza, Rem, Seifer, Sephiroth, Serah, Setzer, Shadow, Snow, Squall, Terra, Thancred, Tidus, Tifa, Ultimecia, Vaan, Vayne, Vincent, Vivi, Warrior of Light, Y'shtola, Yang, Yda, Yuna, and Zell Manikins. Notably, the Emperor Manikin only ever appears as a Heretic Manikin.
  2. The Lunatic Hope Manikin is one of three identified by name, unlike other Lunatic Manikins, though a Hope Manikin does appear under the generic "Lunatic Manikin" name.
  3. The Lunatic Lulu Manikin is one of three identified by name, unlike other Lunatic Manikins, but only in the English localization. Additionally, there is no "normal" Lulu Manikin—it only appears as a Lunatic enemy.
  4. The Lunatic Lyse Manikin is one of three identified by name, unlike other Lunatic Manikins, but only in the English localization. Additionally, there is no "normal" Lyse Manikin—it only appears as a Lunatic enemy.
  5. Lunatic Manikins come in several forms but are not identified by name. Variations include Agrias, Auron, Balthier, Cait Sith, Cid, Hope, Kain, Lightning, Locke, Onion Knight, Ramza, Seifer, Sephiroth, and Yang Manikins.
  6. A generic Disaster Machine appears in the game's code, but only the Lunatic variant actually appears in gameplay.

  9. Most Small Flan Medleys are not identified by color, with the exception of one Heretic variant named as Blue.
  10. The Enraged and Vengeful variants of the Lamia Queen are only named as such in the global release; they are generic Lamia Queens in the Japanese release.

  12. 12.0 12.1 Dummied versions of Shinryu explicitly tagged as (First Form) and (Second Form) appear in the game's code, but the generic Shinryus only appear without the tags. Conversely, the Lunatic Shinryus appear only with the (First Form) and (Second Form) tags.
