I'm afraid the jury's still out on that one.
Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is an upcoming free-to-play game, the sixth title in the Dissidia Final Fantasy series, set to release for iOS and Android platforms. The game is co-developed by Square Enix and NHN Playart, and published by Square Enix. The game is set to be released in the year 2026.
Gameplay[]
Similar to its predecessor Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, this game revolves around two teams of three characters. The game is described as a "3vs3 Team Boss Battle Arena", where each team fights to see who can defeat the arena boss first.
The player uses the movement pad on their screen to move their character, while dragging their finger on the screen allows them to move the camera left and right. When a player stops moving, they will automatically attack nearby enemies within their immediate area, highlighted by a blue circle around the character, using normal attacks. By tapping repeatedly on the screen, the player can make the normal attacks stronger and faster. Players can assign 5 abilities to their characters. By dragging up an ability icon, players can view its effect and range. After dragging up the ability icon, players can then use said ability by letting go.
When engaging in combat, the first objective is to defeat the monsters around the corrupted crystals across the arena. After defeating the monsters, the player must then purify the crystal by having their character stand close by. For each crystal that is purified, all characters on the player's team receive bravery points. Bravery can also be accumulated by attacking and defeating a character from the opposing team. Bravery points are used to break through the arena boss's barrier and deal damage. Once the player has accumulated 9999 bravery points, their character can enter Bravery Burst by flicking up on the character icon in the bottom left of the screen. Bravery Burst lasts as long as the player is able to use abilities and ends once the last ability's effect duration expires.
Players can only deal damage to the arena boss while their character's Bravery Burst is active. The arena boss will appear only after a certain amount of time has passed. The boss will have two health bars along the top of the screen - one on the left and one on the right. These represent the progress made by each team in defeating the boss; the team that wins is the one who can deplete their respective health bar first.
Each character is assigned one of four Roles[1], each having an exclusive ability which ranges from attack abilities, assist abilities and movement-based abilities. Players can hold the area where the ability name is shown to activate their character's unique ability, though the location will vary depending on user interface.

Story[]
The warriors of light find themselves transported to a new and unfamiliar world, which is revealed to be modern-day Tokyo. Despite their preceding titles, it is presumed that this is an entirely stand-alone story as the warriors of light in Dissidia Duellum do not seem to recognize each other. Swarms of monsters start appearing in the city and draining the civilians of their vitality - a phenomena that has been dubbed "aggressions". When aggressions occur, the warriors of light appear and engage in battle to restore order before promptly disappearing. Because of this, they have been dubbed "ghosts" according to Ren.
In order to better blend into their modern surroundings, the warriors of light are able to switch to more casual attire. In order to communicate with each other outside of aggressions, the warriors of light are also equipped with mobile phones. Mog invites them all to a group chat; while characters like Cloud and Lightning are able to use their phones with ease due to their respective world's settings, others like Terra and the Warrior of Light initially struggle as they are unfamiliar with modern technology.
Shortly after arriving in Tokyo, Cloud is greeted by Ren before witnessing an aggression taking place - an Iron Giant accompanied by a group of Flan monsters. Cloud manages to fight them off but notices Sephiroth watching from the rooftops above as he conjures a Behemoth. Instead of fighting, Sephiroth instead tells Cloud about life crystals, and uses one to create an identical copy of him that seemingly accompanies the Warrior of Light, Terra and Lightning. Recognizing them as carbon copies, the true warriors catch up to Cloud and assist in taking on the Behemoth. Ren bestows his lucky charm to Terra to aid her in the fight.
Upon slaying the monster and restoring vitality back to the afflicted civilians nearby, Cloud notices that he has become weaker. The Warrior of Light explains that they, too, have had their vitality stolen and implores him to join their cause to reclaim it through fighting. Despite their warnings, Ren also decides to help from afar as he is inexperienced in combat.

Etymology[]
Dissidia is the plural form of discidium, alternatively spelled dissidium, meaning "discord, disagreement". It is related to the verb dissidere, "to disagree"; this and related terms have given rise to words in various languages with similarly intended meaning (e.g. English dissident, Italian dissidio, Portuguese dissidente).
Duellum, from whence comes English duel (a battle between two parties), is an antecedent of Latin bellum, meaning "war", "warfare", and "conflict", among other translations.
