A spellblade technique that curtails the body's freedom, preventing the target from taking action.
Description
Disable (ドンアク, Don Aku?, lit. Don't Act), also called Don't Act, is a recurring ability that usually inflicts the Disable status effect. While there are many abilities available to enemy and ally alike that inflict the status, the Disable spell itself is normally a part of a specific class of magic.
Appearances
Final Fantasy XII
Disable's license is Time Magick 2. In the Zodiac versions, Disable is available for the Red Battlemage and Time Battlemage job classes.
In the original version, it can be bought after the party returns from the Barheim Passage. In the Zodiac versions it can be bought from shops after encountering Ba'Gamnan in the Lhusu Mines, and from a treasure from Trial Mode Stage 32 (with Diamond Armlet).
Final Fantasy XIV
Disable is an Astrologian PvP exclusive ability. It reduces the potency of the target's attacks by 20% for a period of 6 seconds. The ability has an instant cast time and has a cooldown time of 30 seconds.
Prior to the release of the Stormblood expansion, Disable was originally an Astrologian ability available at level 38. The ability reduced the potency of the target's next actions by 5% for a period of 6 seconds. The ability had an instant cast time and has a cooldown time of 60 seconds. After the expansion's release, Disable was removed from the Astrologian's default action list.
