Like the other Entites, Diakon Entite's attacks consist of Silencega and Sleepga, but unlike other Entites (save for the Leamonde Entite) it uses Fearga rather than Fear, the former reducing the entire party's MP. Diakon Entite uses high-level elemental spells—Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Waterga, Aeroga and Darkga, as well as Holy—and can use Dispelga to remove buffs from the party. Reflect will not work against it, as its spells ignore Reflect. Also, like the other Entites, it is docile, but attacks when provoked or when magick is used nearby.

In ages past, the gods took to the air and from here shone with a brilliant light, so that Man might not walk forever in shadow. The light drove out cold, thinned fear's grim pall, and purified that which was corrupt and evil. Yet Man was not pleased. He grasped for the light, seeking to make it his own. He wanted to be a god. So the gods quit their heavenly seat, and created the diakon entites, whereby to judge Man with a fierce and holy righteousness. Thus did Man seize light, and in so doing, lose the favor of the gods.

Page 2: The Entite Pact

The power of holiness is salvation. The power of holiness is its faith. Worship it, and it will be an absolute. Worship it, and it will know no doubt. Yet strike it down with the power of darkness, and its eyes will open, and it shall know fear. Holiness, fearful, shall surely offer the shining electrum to you.

Stats

Battle

Etymology

A Diakon is also another spelling for Deacon. Deacon (diakonos) means minister or servant, and is used in context with the Catholic Church. This might imply that the Diakon Entite are "ministers" or "servants" of the Occuria.

The Japanese name, "Dekuarubu," is the Romanization of old Norse "Dökkálfr," the Dark Elf. The contradiction of elemental property directly mirrors with "Ryosuarubu", Leamonde Entite in the English version.

Trivia

 • In the original Japanese version Diakon Entite was on level 25. Its level was bumped to 45 for the overseas versions (all other stats remain the same) and it remains thus in the Zodiac versions. The Bradygame and Piggyback guides still erroneously cite level 25.
 • The Original Japanese Guidebook cites the Diakon Entites' MP as being 16500, but subsequent guides list it as 999.
