Dia II is an Enfeebling Magic spell. Associated with White Magic, it can be used by Red Mages from level 31 and White Mages from level 36. An upgrade of the spell Dia, it lowers an enemy's Defense and also deals gradual Light-elemental damage. It uses 30 MP to cast, takes 1.5 seconds to cast, and 6 for subsequent casting.
The spell can be learned from the Scroll of Dia II, which is sold by merchants in Selbina and Windurst Waters for about 10,080 to 11,648 gil.
Final Fantasy XIV[edit | edit source]
Dia II appeared as an ability at the initial release of the original version. It was a Thaumaturge spell available for use at Rank 36, costed 3 action points to set, and had an MP cost of 30. The ability dealt astral-elemental damage over time and reduced the defense of enemies within an area of effect. After the release of patch 1.20, Dia II; along with Dia, became unusable by any class.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
Dia means "day" in Portuguese, Spanish and Occitan.
In ancient Greek religion and folklore, Dia means "heavenly", "divine", or "she who belongs to Zeus". The name is attributed to several figures and treated like an honorific or title.
