Dia is a pseudo-element in Final Fantasy. Technically non-elemental, Dia spells are unique in that they only function against Undead enemies. While it is listed as an elemental weakness for these enemies, it does not gain the increased accuracy or damage associated with normal weaknesses: instead, the ability will miss entirely if the enemy is not "weak" against it, and deal normal damage otherwise. Dia spells are the only effective means of dealing damage for White Mages until they acquire the Holy spell late in the game.
