Dheed is a Trophy Rare Game enemy found in Mosphoran Highwaste in Final Fantasy XII. An Archadian Researcher will be near the area, commenting over such a majestic panorama. He can still be talked to in the middle of the battle with Dheed, in which he will scorn the party for ruining the view. The player can steal the Mirage Vest from the Dheed.

It is also fought in the Zodiac versions' Trial Mode at Stage 67 along with a Shield Wyrm where the following items can be stolen from it: Diamond Armlet (common), Cloud Staff (uncommon) and Castellanos (rare).

Though the connection has been lost in translation, Dheed's name is a reference to Vagrant Story, which features a wyvern named D'tok as the first boss.

Bestiary entry[edit | edit source]

Derivation: Wyvern

Mutant wyvern that has attained powers of flight far exceeding those possessed by others of its ilk. Hunted in the Mosphoran Highwaste.

How to find[edit | edit source]

Map of Dheed's approximate spawn point.

The player must have spoken to the "Huntmaster" in Phon Coast and defeated Thalassinon to start the Rare Game quest. Dheed is then found just before the entrance to the location of the Esper boss Exodus, in Skyreach Ridge in Mosphoran Highwaste (see here how to get there). It has a 40% chance of appearing, so the player must exit and re-enter from Empyrean Seat until it spawns.

Battle[edit | edit source]

Dheed is a flying enemy, so the party must use ranged weapons (poles and spears work in the Zodiac versions), magick or technicks.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name possible came from Deydo which is a demon described in the grimoire The Book of Oberon.
