Revision as of 18:52, 4 January 2018
The Seer (導師, Dōshi?), also known as Devout and Spiritmaster, is a recurring job class in the Final Fantasy series. They are generally an upgrade to White Mages.
The job in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift has a slightly different Japanese name: 導士 (Dōshi?).
Profile
The Seer's equipment includes staves and rods. Their armor, like most mages, is limited to lightweight vests and mage robes.
Seers tend to dress in white robes with a red or pink coat underneath. They tend to lean towards lighter armor, generally robes. Male Seers generally do not wear hoods. The most characteristic thing that differs them from White Mages is their trademark Cat-Ear Hood.
Seers have more access and proficiency with higher-rank White Magic than White Mages, and are more able spellcasters in general.

Upon promotion they are granted access to a new tier of white magic and better mind stat, although their MP for their lower level spells seems to be significantly much lower than their white mage counterparts.

They have an S rank in MP and Mind as well as an A rank in Intelligence, allowing for more potent spellcasting. They can also enhance elemental attacks so they cause more damage for a short time. As with Black Mages, they have an S rank in Rods. It is obtained after defeating Victor S. Court in Eternian Central Command.

The Devout costume is based on Krile's white mage outfit from Final Fantasy V. The costume can only be seen when Aemo is equipped with the "Devout Equipment" accessory. Whoever equips the accessory will gain a 25% boost to magic power, along with 100 MP and 30 speed.
