Destiny Odyssey is the name of the initial story modes in Dissidia Final Fantasy. There are ten Destiny Odysseys in all, and are unlocked by finishing all chapters of the Prologue story.
Overview
Edit
In a Destiny Odyssey, the player plays as one of the ten protagonists as they search for their own Crystals. Each Destiny Odyssey has five stages and at least two bosses, including a final battle with the protagonist's corresponding antagonist at the end of the storyline. Completing a Destiny Odyssey of any hero will unlock the Shade Impulse storyline.
After the initial playthrough, the player can replay a Destiny Odyssey, which will now include new bonuses and enemies from the first playthrough.
It should be noted, however, that the stories of Destiny Odyssey are not arranged in chronological order in the game's story selection screen. They are instead arranged by order of Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy X. However, clues scattered throughout the chapters, such as shared cutscenes and events, help reveal their proper order.
A percentage indicating the player's progress through the Odyssey can be seen at the Story Mode select menu. In order to fully master an Odyssey and get this rating 100%, the player must interact with all battle pieces, all items (including Potions and Ethers), all summonstones, all treasure chests (including rare treasure chests), and obtain all stage bonuses (including the Rosetta Stone at the very top of the stage bonus chart). This means that an Odyssey will require multiple playthroughs in order to master.
