Final Fantasy IX[edit | edit source]
Desert Boots is an add-on that provides Magic +1, Spirit +1, Evasion +2, and halves Earth-elemental damage, as well as teaches Flee-Gil, Protect, and Scan. Though not mentioned in the menu, it also makes the wearer weak to Water.
It can be synthesized for 300 gil, a Leather Hat, and a Leather Shirt at Lindblum, Alexandria, and the Black Mage Village, and found at Cleyra's Trunk.
Final Fantasy XI[edit | edit source]
Desert Boots are armor for the feet slot that are wearable at level 62 by all jobs. They have defense 11 and add 10 to HP and 1 to Agility. In sandstorms, they increase the wearer's movement speed by 12%. They are crafted using leathercraft from the skin of the Yowie. As a crafted item, they also have high-quality version, Desert Boots +1, which offer defense 12, HP +12, and agility +2 in addition to the same movement bonus. It used to be popular for scholars to use them as a low-budget form of Herald's Gaiters (which raise movement speed by 12% all the time) by casting Sandstorm on themselves to trigger the Desert Boots' effect.
