Desch is an Amnesiac whose combat role is Offensive Magic.
Aside from being one of only two high-ranking Black Mages in his delegation, Desch has many of the same statistical traits as other mage-fighters, these being average HP and Attack as well as a top-tier Magic stat. Although he is not particularly strong with a sword, Desch will provide his party with plenty of offense through his magic and Bard skills. As for his defensive skill, he is mostly on par with Terra and Ashe, meaning that he is better than most mages at withstanding a physical assault.

Abilities
Desch can use Black Magic up to rarity rank 5, Support abilities up to rarity rank 4, Spellblade abilities up to rarity rank 3, Bard abilities up to rarity rank 4, and Machinist abilities up to rarity rank 5.
His default Soul Break is Sustaining Strike, which at the expense of one Soul Gauge segment deals magic lightning damage to three random enemies.
