FFX wiki iconX2 wiki icon Delay (ディレイ, Direi?) is a status effect in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. It is a volatile condition that pushes back the target's next turn.

Final Fantasy X Edit

Delay pushes back the target's next turn in the Act List. Aeons controlled by the player are not immune to its effects.

Shiva's ability Heavenly Strike erroneously states that it delays the target's next turn, when it actually inflicts Threaten.

Sonic Wings Aeon Ability Damages the target and inflicts Delay.
Beak Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts strong Delay.
Blade Blitz Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts Delay.
Blast Punch Enemy Ability Halves the target's HP and inflicts Delay.
Condemn Enemy Ability Damages all targets, removes positive status effects, and inflicts strong Delay.
Cross Cleave Enemy Ability Damages all targets and inflicts strong Delay.
Double Reaper Enemy Ability Damages all targets and inflicts Delay.
Earthquake Enemy Ability Damages all targets and inflicts Delay. Some versions can inflict strong Delay.
Heavenly Strike Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts Threaten and Delay. Also inflicts Death, Berserk, Confuse, and strong Delay when used by Dark Shiva.
Impulse Enemy Ability Damages all targets and inflicts Delay. Also inflicts Slow, Petrification, Full Break, and strong Delay when used by Dark Bahamut.
Left Arm Strike Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts Delay.
Mega Flare Enemy Ability Damages all targets, removes positive status effects, and inflicts strong Delay when used by Dark Bahamut.
Meteor Strike Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts strong Delay when used by Dark Ifrit.
Oblivion Enemy Ability Damages all targets, removes positive status effects, and inflicts strong Delay when used by Dark Anima.
Paean of the Heavens Enemy Ability Damages all targets by 93.75% of their maximum HP, removes positive status effects, and inflicts Darkness and strong Delay.
Pop Fly Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts strong Delay.
Ram Enemy Ability Damages all targets and inflicts strong Delay.
Regurgitate Enemy Ability Can damage targets and inflict strong Delay.
Rush Attack Enemy Ability Damages a target and inflicts Berserk and strong Delay.
Slime Enemy Ability Damages all targets and inflicts Armor Break, Mental Break, Poison, Curse, Silence, Slow, Berserk and strong Delay.
Tail Sweep Enemy Ability Damages all targets, removes Haste, and inflicts strong Delay.
Thundaja Enemy Ability Damages the target and inflicts strong Delay.

Final Fantasy X-2 Edit

Delay pushes back progress in the cooldown for the Active Time Battle system.
