Defense Node from Final Fantasy IV (iOS).

Defense Node (防衛(ぼうえい)システム, Bōei Shisutemu?, lit. Defense System), also known as Defender or Arsenal, is an enemy in the Final Fantasy series. It is often seen aside the Attack Node and a commanding CPU.

Final Fantasy IV[]

Defense Node appears alongside CPU (2D/3D) and Attack Node (2D/3D) in the Giant of Babil. In both versions it will continuously heal the CPU.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]

Defense Node is a boss found in the Crystals: Subterrane.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Defense Node is an enemy encountered alongside the ADS in The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 1 The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 1 and Turn 2. While summoned as an add in the first encounter, in the second it is one of several node mini-bosses that can be fought in a branching gauntlet leading to the ADS. Defeating the Defense Node in Turn 2 locks out the ADS from performing Chain Lightning, while granting ADS and the other nodes Slashing Resistance Up Slashing Resistance Up.

Final Fantasy XV[]

Defense Nodes are fought in Perpetouss Keep during the Adventurer from Another World quest. It is a security bot of Niflheim make that patrols the abandoned imperial base. They are similar to the magitek-boosting enemies encountered in Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto.

Final Fantasy XVI[]

Defense Nodes are Fallen constructs that appear in and nearby their ruins, such as the Phoenix Gate Ruins and Reverie.

Final Fantasy Legend II[]

FFLII Arsenal

The Arsenal is the final boss of Final Fantasy Legend II, encountered in the Central Shrine. After the fall of the villain Apollo, who hoped to possess all MAGI to become a god, the Celestial World begins to shake, and the heroes are informed by Isis that it is about to break apart, severing all worlds connected to it. The party and Isis go to the center of the world along with Isis to confront Arsenal, the security system. There are two Arsenal units; Isis fights one, while the party take down the other. Afterward the tremors stop, the party return to the First World, while Isis remains to repair the damage done to the Celestial World.
