The team proceeds into the Mythril Mine to pursue Sephiroth. Once famous for the eponymous ore it produced, the site is now nothing more than a fiend-filled monument to a world that was destroyed by Shirna's greed.
Description
Chapter 3: Deeper into Darkness is the third chapter in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Cloud Strife's party ventures into the mythril mines in their quest to follow robed men to track down Sephiroth.
Story[]
The Turks confront Avalanche.
Cloud Strife, Aerith Gainsborough, Barret Wallace, Tifa Lockhart, and Red XIII venture into the Mythril Mines in search of the robed men, some of whom fall into a chasms where Barret and Red XIII decide to follow up while Cloud and the others press onward. They find Elena and Rude of the Turks also following the robed men's movements, treating these people as disposable objects. Cloud and friends ask what happened to Reno, Rude's previous partner, but hear he is on "vacation".
Mythril golem ambushes Barret and Red XIII.
After a confrontation, Elena and Rude depart while Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith again become separated from Barret and Red XIII when the two fall to the bottom of the mine. Barret and Red XIII make their way back up, fighting a mythril golem along the way, the ore of the mines itself animating due to influence of mako.
