The debug room is a recurring location in the Final Fantasy series. It is used primarily by the developers to test certain aspects of the game, but in some games the debug rooms are left fully intact and can be accessed by the player primarily through hacking or cheating devices.

Etymology[]
A debug room is a location in a computer game, structured like other rooms in the game, within which game-playing actions can be used to set options, pick characters and items, and control other aspects of gameplay. It is not intended to be accessible to players within the game, but only to programmers or playtesters debugging the game.
