Final Fantasy V description
Death Claw (デスクロー? or デスクロウ, Desu Kurō?), also called DethClaw, is a recurring enemy ability in the series. It is often used by the enemy of the same name, and tends to either reduce a target's HP to HP Critical, inflict the Paralyze status, or both.
Appearances
Final Fantasy V
Death Claw is a Blue Magic spell that inflicts Paralysis on a single enemy and reduces their HP to a single digit. A Blue Mage may learn this spell from the Death Claw, Treant, Gilgamesh, Soul Eater, Azulmagia, Iron Claw, Objet d'Art, and Strapparer enemies. It costs 21 MP to cast, pierces Reflect status, and, like Gravity and instant death spells, cannot affect monsters with the Heavy type.
The player may utilize this ability by catching and releasing a Strapparer.
Final Fantasy VII
Death Claw is used by the Death Claw enemy, and inflicts Paralyzed on a target.
Final Fantasy VIII
Death Claw is used by the enemy of the same name to inflict non-elemental damage to one character and possibly KO that character in one hit.
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Death Claw is an enemy-exclusive ability available to Gilgamesh.
