Uses "Bio2" on all opponents

Description

Deadly Waste is a battle item item in Final Fantasy VII that casts Bio2 on all enemies with a 20% chance of inflicting Poison. It is the Poison-elemental counterpart to the Fire Fang, Antarctic Wind, Bolt Plume, and Earth Drum. The M-Tentacles is the upgrade to the Deadly Waste.

Obtained[]

Drop Brain Pod, Jayjujayme, Slalom, Smogger
Steal Zenene
Morph Brain Pod

Mechanics[]

Unlike when casting the spell Bio2, using the Deadly Waste does not take the user's stats into account in determining damage. The final damage is calculated as :

The damage is then modified as per the enemy's resistance to Poison-elemental damage; i.e. double if the enemy is weak to Poison, half of they resist, 0 if they nullify Poison, or healing if they absorb Poison. If the target is immune to the Poison element (take no damage from it), they are also immune to the Poison status.

Deadly Waste has a base 20% chance of poisoning the target if the target is susceptible, lower than the Bio2 spell. Battle items bypass target's Reflect status.

Use[]

Deadly Waste is a mediocre item, due to its poor damage and low chance of inflicting Poison. It may see some usage in the Battle Square for when the player's spells are locked/weapon is broken, but otherwise, it is not a valuable item. Deadly Waste may have some use during "Homecoming of a Miserable Daughter" quest when the player's Materia are inaccessible. If the player gets some Deadly Wastes from the enemies inside the Shinra Bldg., they may be good against the Midgar Zolom.
