Darryl is a minor non-player character from the original Final Fantasy. She is a former mermaid who grows legs and moves up onto the shore. Although she does not say her name when spoken to, the other mermaids at the Sunken Shrine talk about her as the mermaid who grew legs. She is only named in the North American version on the NES.

Trivia

• Darryl being a mermaid who grows legs may be a homage to Daryl Hannah's mermaid Madison, from the 1984 movie Splash, who also grew legs and chose to live on land.
