Darkness is a status in Final Fantasy X-2 that makes the afflicted's physical attacks more likely to miss. It does not wear off on its own. The player has various means of inflicting it, helping the player avoid physical damage. Visually, it appears as a black cloud on the affected character's head.

Bosses are generally immune to Darkness, the exceptions being Baralai in Bevelle Underground, Boris, Flame Dragon, Garik Ronso, Guardian Beast, Leblanc, Logos, Ormi, Paine, Rikku, Ronso Youth, YSLS-Zero, and Zalamander.
Darkness often works on machina enemies that tend to be immune to other statuses. Darkness often works on magic-using enemies, like elementals, but will not have an effect in practice as magic accuracy will not be affected. Ghost-type enemies are immune to Darkness.
