Darkness is a status in Final Fantasy X. Darkness overrides the Accuracy and Evasion stats and will reduce the probability of attacks and skills hitting the target to 10%. Any character with a Luck stat that exceeds the target by 90 points will be unaffected, as they will continually land critical hits, which will not miss. Darkness lasts for a certain number of turns depending on the attack that inflicted the status effect (usually three), but can be removed.
