Appearances[edit | edit source]
Final Fantasy IV[edit | edit source]
Much more powerful than its previous form, the Dark Dragon has two attacks, a melee that does regular damage, and Dark Breath which does moderate Fire-elemental damage that is capable of killing the party in a few hits. The player might want to grind a bit outside of the cave before this battle, because if one wrong move is committed, the party is dragon fodder.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[edit | edit source]
Fought during Palom's Tale, the Dark Dragon has resistance to all Black Magic and the fight is mostly scripted, but there is still chance for the characters to become KOed and receive a Game Over. After a few rounds, it will be defeated by Shiva.
Final Fantasy VII[edit | edit source]
They are among the stronger enemies found in the Northern Cave.
Dark Dragons use strong physical attacks—Claw and Tail Attack—which may use twice in one turn. It uses Dark Dragon Breath, which may inflict Darkness to all party members. His most powerful attack is Ultima, which it uses as a counter-attack against magical attacks once per battle.
When manipulated, the player may learn the enemy skills Dragon Force and Laser from it. It is recommended to manipulate them or inflict Sleep, then cast spells such as Laser on it to inflict damage quickly.
Final Fantasy XI[edit | edit source]
A mission boss from Final Fantasy XI. It is encountered alongside Seeker in the battlefield "The Rank 2 Final Mission" if the player chooses to visit the Republic of Bastok last.
