The Dark Behemoth is a boss in the Advance and 2014 Matrix Software versions of Final Fantasy VI. It is this game's version of the Final Fantasy Tactics monster of the same name.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Dark Behemoth uses Mighty Guard to increase its defenses, and counterattacks with the powerful Heave, a physical attack. When it dies it casts Meteor or Ultima as a final attack, both of which have high power and could potentially kill the party.
Unlike most bosses in the Dragons' Den, Dark Behemoth, Earth Eater, Gargantua, Malboro Menace, Abyss Worm do not drop any ultimate weapons, and they will respawn every time the player enters their area.
Strategy[]
The player can cast Reraise before killing the Dark Behemoth or bypass its final attack by using Banish to kill it immediately.

Etymology[]
Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to dinosaurs, especially sauropods, as well as elephants, hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity".
