Dark Aspic is an enemy in Final Fantasy V. It is able to use Vampire on a target, draining their HP. Dark Aspics typically manifest in pairs or groups as large as six. Though highly resistant to physical hits (but not enough to negate damage entirely) they can be destroyed with a single Flame Scroll or other group-effect, Fire-based attack. A blue mage with level 5 doom also works very well against these enemies.
Stats
Etymology
The English word aspic is borrowed from French aspic, from Latin aspis, and possibly influenced by French basilic ("basilisk").
Aspic refers to a dish in which ingredients are set into a gelatin made from a meat stock or consommé.
