LRFFXIII Cyclops

Cyclops appears as an enemy and boss in the Yusnaan area. It begins battles as a relatively simple encounter with high HP and a few basic attacks. At half health it will use Rage, gaining power but lowering its defenses. It begins to attack relentlessly, making it difficult to avoid area attacks. Its appearance is a modified version of the Final Fantasy XIV cyclops.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Cyclopes (サイクロプス, Saikuropusu?) are a family of primitive spoken that reside primarily in Abalathia's Spine—spoken being used loosely here, as cyclopes lack mouths. While frighteningly strong, their limited intelligence often sees them enslaved by other tribes.

The Kyklopes (クリュプス, Kuryupusu?) are a distinct family created by the ancients. While superficially similar in appearance to cyclopes, they are based on the Final Fantasy Tactics cyclops, possessing horns and a mouth, as well as appearing to be more intelligent, capable of using powerful magicks. The common Kyklops can be encountered as a boss in Anamnesis Anyder Anamnesis Anyder.

Etymology[]

Cyclops (Κύκλωψ, Kýklōps) is the singular form of cyclopes. In Greek mythology, the cyclopes are a race of giants, having but a single round eye on their forehead. They were said to be children of other mythological beings, such as the gods, nymphs, and even the Earth itself. Skilled blacksmiths, the cyclopes sometimes made weapons for the gods, most famous of these being the thunderbolts of Zeus.
