Cutting Trigger (カッテングトリガー, Kattengu Torigā?) is a recurring gunblade in the Final Fantasy series, associated with Squall Leonhart. It is a blade with a firing mechanism that boosts Squall's attack power when triggered with the right timing. In games where "gunblade" is not a weapon type, Cutting Trigger is classed as a sword.
Cutting Trigger has a vivid red blade whose shape and coloring resembles the Ragnarok starship.

The Cutting Trigger is one of Squall's unlockable weapons, and is based on the weapon's appearance in Final Fantasy VIII. It can be obtained either by random chance when redeeming a Treasure token, or by purchasing them from the Shop for 7,200 Gil. Like all other characters' weapons, having it equipped carries no advantages or disadvantages.
