Restores HP

Description

Cure3 is a restore magic spell in Final Fantasy VII. It is granted by the Restore Materia at level four, and heals a target's HP. Cure3 is the third-tier curative spell above Cure and Cure2, both of which are provided by the Restore Materia, but is below FullCure, which is provided by the Full Cure Materia.

Cure 3 is available to Aeris in the 1996 demo release, and can be used for a cost of only 40 MP. Despite having Cure3, she does not have Regen, but still has Cure and Cure2.

Use

Cure3 can be used by characters with the Restore Materia at level 4. It restores a significant amount of HP, but also has a very high MP cost. This means that, at early levels, it should be used sparingly, to rescue the party from dire situations. At later levels, as the party's HP and MP increase, Cure3 can be used more frequently and takes over as the main healing spell. Cure3 outclasses the majority of healing items. Cure3 can also be used to damage undead enemies.

Cure3 should be paired with the Restore Materia with All to heal all allies at once. Though it can be paired with other Support Materia, most are better paired with other Materia that provide attack magic.

Cure3 is also outclassed by FullCure, provided by the Full Cure Materia. However, this spell has an immense MP cost, and in many cases, Cure3 can heal the party for the necessary amount to return them to full HP regardless. This means that FullCure should only be used in very dire situations, while Cure3 can be relied upon most of the time.

Cure3 is cast by the enemies 2-Faced, Shred, Scissors (Lower), and Jenova∙SYNTHESIS.
