Crystal gloves are a weapon for Tifa in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The weapon provides the Unfettered Fury ability, a magic version of the Unbridled Strength ability that causes her basic attacks to deal magic damage and gives her magic-based unique abilities. The weapon has stats heavily weighted toward magic damage, and notably numerous materia slots.

Obtained

Crystal gloves are acquired in a chest on the way to the Nibel Reactor in chapter 11, "The Long Shadow of Shinra". The chest is found near a storage shed on the way to the reactor.

Use

Crystal gloves are unique among Tifa's weapons in having a higher Magic Attack boost than Attack Power. As such, the weapon is specifically used when building Tifa toward magic damage. Although Tifa's low MP typically limits her as a spellcaster, and magic damage does not normally play to her strengths, the weapon's Unfettered Fury ability, her Chi Trap, and a number of Enemy Skill Materia abilities, can still take advantage of this. Additionally, Tifa's ability to build ATB quickly can make her a formidable spellcaster if desired.

The weapon skills are primarily based on either alleviating the weapon's attack power sacrifice, or playing into a playstyle of Tifa as a spellcaster. The MP Limit skill in particular is unique and takes advantage of her casting spells more often.

Compared to other weapons, crystal gloves have the lowest attack power boost. For players who prefer more balanced stats but still with a focus on magic damage, Sylph Gloves can fill this effectively, while Leather Gloves have a respectable magic attack boost but with a greater attack power boost. Other weapons typically play more into Tifa's strength as a physical damage attacker.
