Crush (かにばさみ, Kanibasami?), also called Crash Down, is a recurring enemy ability in the series. It is often an extremely powerful attack, either capable of dealing heavy physical damage or instant death to one party member, and is usually used by powerful bosses or enemies, though this is not always the case.
Appearances
Final Fantasy IV
First appearing in this game, Crush is an attack used most famously by Demon Wall, and later by Lunar Titan in the Advance remake. It inflicts instant death and deals 9999 damage to one party member, and is used in rapid succession by Demon's Gate.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-
Crush returns as a monster spell in the sequel of Final Fantasy IV. It functions the same way as it did in the prequel, and the ability is still used by Demon Wall only.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Crush appears in two different variations. The first is used by Demon Wall and the Ultima Weapon, which instantly kills a party member. The second version is used by Creator, and does high non-elemental damage to the party and low non-elemental damage to the user's party.
Final Fantasy V
Crush is an enemy ability used solely by Landcrawler. It inflicts major non-elemental damage to one party member as well as inflicting Confuse.
Final Fantasy VI
Crush is an enemy ability used by both Io and Slagworm. It inflicts major non-elemental damage to one party member.
Final Fantasy VII
Crush is used by the Sea Worm, and inflicts moderate non-elemental damage to one party member.
Final Fantasy IX
Crush, used by the Clipper enemy, inflicts minor non-elemental damage to one party member.
Final Fantasy X-2
