The Crimson Shadow is an enemy in Final Fantasy X-2. Crimson Shadows are the unsent remains of the Crimson Squad exercise in which Nooj, Baralai, Gippal, Paine, and other recruits were to enter the Den of Woe. Possessed by Shuyin, the recruits killed each other; the only survivors of the mission being Baralai, Gippal, Paine, and Nooj, whom Shuyin continued to possess.

Etymology[]
A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it.
