Crimson Cyclone is a pet spell from Final Fantasy XIV used by the Summoner's Ifrit-Egi when commanded by Egi Assault, dealing damage to a single target.

Use

Crimson Cyclone is Ifrit-Egi's Assault I action, dealing moderate single target damage. It is the most potent Assault I action available to Summoners and one of their strongest Assaults in general, and helps make Ifrit-Egi excel in single-target encounters where is can be used interchangeably with its Assault II counterpart, Flaming Crush. Against two or more targets, Garuda-Egi's Aerial Slash is generally preferable.

At level 62 Crimson Cyclone will begin generating stacks of Further Ruin, which upgrades Ruin II to the powerful Ruin IV. Summoners will generally want to use Crimson Cyclone and other offensive Egi Assaults to ensure they have a full stack of 4 Further Ruins heading into their Summon Bahamut phase.

A Realm Reborn	Added with 105 potency, 40 second recast, and inflicted Stun for 2 seconds. Dealt unaspected blunt damage. Would be used automatically by the pet in combat unless set to Obey or Steady. Level 24 trait Enhanced Pet Actions gave a Crimson Cyclone a 20% to grant Spell Speed Up whenever it dealt critical damage, increasing spell speed by 20% for 8 seconds.
Patch 2.3	Potency increased to 110.
Heavensward	Damage type changed to magic fire damage.
Stormblood	Enhanced Pet Actions removed. Level 62 Summoner trait Ruin Mastery added, which gave Crimson Cyclone a 15% chance to grant Further Ruin, upgrading Ruin and Ruin III to Ruin IV. Summon III no longer available in PvP, and by extension Ifrit-Egi and Crimson Cyclone.
Patch 4.1	Ruin Mastery effect changed, no longer interacts with Crimson Cyclone. Replaced with Enhanced Ruin II, which now upgraded Ruin II to Ruin IV, rather than Ruin and Ruin III.
Shadowbringers	Potency reduced to 100. No longer inflicts Stun. Now only executed when the player uses Egi Assault. Enhanced Ruin II effect now always activates from Crimson Cyclone.
Patch 5.1	Potency increased to 250.
