Cabin

Artwork from Final Fantasy.

Cottage from Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection.

Recover all members' HP and MP. Can be used outdoors.

Final Fantasy V description

The Cottage (コテージ, Kotēji?), also known as the Cabin or House, is a recurring item throughout the Final Fantasy series. It completely restores the HP and MP of the active party. It can only be used on the world map and at save points. It works much like the Tent, and in the games they both appear, the Cottage is the more effective item. In Final Fantasy VIII, the Cottage can also heal all Guardian Forces at once.

The Cottage item has been phased out since Final Fantasy X, due to save points having the added effect of completely healing the party.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy[]

Fully restores party's HP and MP. Can only be used outdoors.

Description

The Cottage (localized as "HOUSE" in the NES release) is a consumable item that can only be used while on the world map. It fully heals the HP and spell charges (or MP for the versions that use MP) for the entire party. In Final Fantasy Origins and prior versions, the Cottage instead restores 120 HP and all spell charges to the party and also allows the player to save the game.

The Cottage is bugged in the original NES version. It restores the party's HP, then allows the player to save, then restores the party's spell charges. Due to this order of operations, if the player loads their save after using the Cottage, their casters will not have had their spell charges restored. This can be worked around by saving again after using the Cottage, which requires either using a Sleeping Bag, Tent or a second Cottage, or saving at the inn of a town.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]

Cottages are used in the Labyrinth mode. Upon reaching a GOAL card, the player is given an option to store any accumulated items in a cottage, which can be retrieved at a later session. Unlike tents, Cottages are placed at a randomly chosen starting point (marked on the map with a purple symbol).

Upon returning to the starting point, stored items will be retrieved upon selecting the Cottage card. Only one cottage can be placed at a time; any new cottage created at a Goal will replace the old one. Placing a cottage will not affect any existing tent.
