Bestiary[]
- Alpha
- A seadevil subspecies found outside of Old Lestallum, easily recognized by the unusual color of its body. Unfortunately, being both ferocious and few in number, biologists have been unable to glean much information about this rare breed.
- Size: 24.77 ft. Weight: 1.83 t
- Beta
- A seadevil subspecies inhabiting the depths of the Crestholm Channels along with its progenitors. Though genetically different, most behavioral disparities gradually disappeared as the two species mutually adapted to life in the same channels. This particular specimen developed more advanced musculature, however, presumably through adoption to the harsh underground climes.
- Size: 24.80 ft. Weight: 1.84 t

Battle[]
Coraldevil's attacks deal physical damage. It can latch onto the player and roll, but the player can button mash when the prompt appears to break free. It sprays jets of water from its mouth for a ranged attack. Its lunging attack can be blocked and parried.
The hunt's battle area has rocks where the enemies cannot reach where the player can point-warp for safety and MP-replenishment.
Strategy[]
The player can throw blizzard elemancy at the group of them from a safe distance, as coraldevils are weak to ice. During the hunt for them, the player can stand on the rocks away from the crocs and use firearms, but though the enemies are weak to them, the damage tends to be poor. The player can character-swap to Prompto for more fire power.
When in close combat, it is best to attack the crocodiles' behinds; this may also trigger blindside-links with party members for extra damage. Techniques that hit groups are good for the battle, such as Gladiolus's Impulse, as is Ignis's Enhancement.
Etymology[]
Precious coral is the common name given to Corallium rubrum and several related species of marine coral. The distinguishing characteristic of precious corals is their durable and intensely colored red or pink skeleton, which is used for making jewelry.
The Devil is believed in many religions, myths and cultures to be a supernatural entity that is the personification of evil and the enemy of God and humankind.
