Benedikta Harman and Garuda

"Control" is a boss theme in Final Fantasy XVI. It was composed by Masayoshi Soken and Nobuo Uematsu, and arranged by Takafumi Imamura and Daiki Ishikawa. The lyrics were written by Michael-Christopher Koji Fox.

The "Prelude" was arranged and used in "Control". The track also contains a phrase from "Fallen Angel", the Garuda boss theme from Final Fantasy XIV. Soken said that there is "no particular reason" for the usage of the phrase and it "feels like it is because it is Garuda".

According to Soken, it is a track that truly represents Benedikta Harman, Dominant of Garuda, in which Benedikta's melody is maximized.[1]

Lyrics[]

The official lyrics were released on the Final Fantasy XVI Original Soundtrack.

Garuda

Garuda
Garuda
Garuda
Garuda
On lightning dark
Did ride betrayal
Away her heart
She swathed in gale
Silently
Falling, falling
Finding fury, fury
Fire and fury
Her breath a storm
To stir the heavens
A wretch forlorn
She turns to daemons
Far, ever
Falling, falling
From redemption
To the end of...

"Control" is the theme that plays during the Eikon boss battle between Ifrit and Garuda. It is track 17 of disc 2 on the Final Fantasy XVI Original Soundtrack.

The theme of "Control" is used in the scenes depicted from Benedikta's point of view, such as "Gathering Clouds" which plays in the first scene in the Iron Kingdom when Benedikta finds Cidolfus Telamon and looks down on him. "Gathering Clouds" was arranged by Takafumi Imamura and is track 23 of disc 1 on the original soundtrack.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line[]

The stage's visuals are modeled after the arena in which Clive, transformed as Ifrit, battles against Garuda.
