The Composite Bow (コンポジットボウ, Konpojitto Bō?) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy III[]

While not appearing physically or having any statistics inside the data, there is a text string of Composite Bow suggesting that at one point during development that this weapon was planned to appear in the 3D remake as a bow.

Final Fantasy XI[]

Composite Bow is an archery weapon that provides 36 damage and 450 delay. It deals 4.8 damage per second and accumulates 115 TP per hit. It can be equipped by level 36 Warrior, Red Mage, Thief, Paladin, Dark Knight, Beastmaster, Ranger, Samurai, and Ninja.

It can be bought for 24,150 gil from Shiny Teeth in Rabao (F-6). It can also be bought for 125 Sparks of Eminence from Isakoth in Bastok Markets (E-11), Rolandienne in Southern San d'Oria (G-10), Fhelm Jobeizat in Windurst Woods (J-10), and Eternal Flame in Western Adoulin (H-11).

A bow reinforced with a combination of materials that may include animal horn, tendon, bone, and different kinds of wood. This not only strengthens the bow, it raises its flexibility, allowing it to deliver even greater force with each arrow.

In Bravely Default, Composite Bow provides 44 P.Atk, 95 Aim, and has a 30% chance to cause Poison. It can be bought for 1950 pg in Florem.

In Bravely Second: End Layer, Composite Bow provides 48 P.ATK, 95 Aim, and deals 50% more damage to undead. It can be bought in Hartschild for 1700 pg.

Etymology[]

A composite bow is a traditional bow made from horn, wood, and sinew laminated together, cf., laminated bow. The horn is on the belly, facing the archer, and sinew on the back of a wooden core.
