A compass of light is an object in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. They are held by certain characters and used to locate others from their own homeworlds. It first appears in Act 3 of the storyline.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

When the Warrior of Light sends his comrades away from the World of Darkness, they are scattered all over the new world. The Onion Knight discovers that he has a glowing compass that shows him where his friends are and uses it to locate them.

As others wake up in the new world, more individuals discover that they hold compasses--typically the leader of the party from that world, but some groups have multiple compass-holders. Initially, the compasses appear to be no more than guides. However, as they gather, others besides the Onion Knight begin to recover vague memories of the Warrior of Light. Eventually, they learn that uniting all the compasses will show the way to him and begin pursuing that goal.

Although the compasses begin in one person's possession, they are not bound to that person. Sephiroth obtains Cloud's compass through mind control, and Ramza loses his own compass.
