Comet2 is a magic spell in Final Fantasy VII granted by the Comet Materia. It is the second-tier Comet spell above Comet. The spell casts four different non-elemental attacks, which hit random enemies, and cannot be reflected.

Comet2's individual attacks deal damage in the following formula:
where "Level" is the caster's current level and "Magical Attack" is their Magic atk stat. This is effectively 7.5x the base magic damage, across all 4 hits.
Comet2 can be used by characters with the Comet Materia at level 2. It attacks in four intervals, with each attack dealing moderate non-elemental magic damage to four random targets, amounting to more damage than the basic Comet spell. Comet2 also cannot be reflected, and though it cannot exploit a vulnerability to an element, it cannot be resisted by an elemental resistance either. As a result, Comet2 is useful against any enemy and in any situation.
Comet2 should be amplified by pairing the Comet Materia with Support Materia. Since it is good in all situations, it is a great choice to link with Magic Counter. MP Absorb can also mitigate its high MP cost, while HP Absorb can provide durability to spellcasters. MP Turbo or Quadra Magic can amplify its already strong damage to single targets. If paired with Quadra Magic, starting from the second cast, Comet2 concentrates all attacks on the last target rather than spreading them randomly. Unlike most magic, Comet2 cannot be paired with All.
Comet2 is among the most powerful spells in the game, though the situations under which it will be used vary. Against single targets, it will attack the same target four times, otherwise it will spread its damage across different enemies. Whether the player prefers this over Comet's guaranteed damage to one target depends on the desired effect. Comet2 also has a significant MP cost, meaning it should be used sparingly. Comet2 is outclassed by Ultima, a non-elemental spell that deals more overall damage and also hits all targets for a similar MP cost.
Comet2 is the source of the largest number of hits a player can deal in a single attack. By casting Comet2 using both the W-Magic Command Materia and the maximum of five Quadra Magic materia, Comet2 can be cast sixteen times in a single turn; at four hits per casting, that ends with a total of sixty-four hits.
