Coeurl is a genus of enemies in Final Fantasy XI.
Coeurls are large cat-like creatures distinguished by two large whiskers protruding from their faces. Able to survive in a wide array of different habitats, they can be found in deserts, jungles, caves, and dungeons all over Vana'diel. Adventurers should be cautioned against trying to run away from these creatures as they are able to move at speeds that exceed that of most monsters (and adventurers) in Vana'diel.
Coeurls, and the subfamily, Lynx, can provide a number of useful items when defeated. The hides of the Coeurl and Lynx can be used by experienced leather crafters to make a number of items, including those in the Coeurl Jerkin Set. The High-Quality Coeurl Hide is a prominent ingredient in the visually stunning Panther Mask. Coeurl and Lynx meat, with its distinctive gamey taste, can be used by chefs to make a few dishes, including the curiously named Rabbit Pie. Finally, the distinctive whiskers are used by crafters of all disciplines, from alchemy to woodworking.
