Louisoix Leveilleur: Eorzea was destroyed by a force of unimaginable power raining down from the sky. It is the dawn of a new age!
The following article covers a subject from a previous version of Coerthan Sidequests that has since been removed.

The following is a list of Coerthan Sidequests from Final Fantasy XIV version 1.0.

Counting Sheep[]

Journal
  • Two of Patrick's ewes have fled the flock. He would like to go and search for them, but requires that you first slay at least four of the deadly dreadwolves known to roam the neighboring hills.
  • You have defeated enough of the dreadwolves to make traveling in the area safe. Return to Owl's Nest and let Patrick know he can begin his search for the missing sheep.

A Hypocritical Oath[]

Journal
  • Arscelin of Owl's Nest is caring for a wounded man but lacks the final ingredient required to complete an herbal poultice which will prevent his patient's wounds from becoming infected. The healer has asked you to collect five sheepbur seeds from the hides of antelope does found south of Camp Glory.
  • Countless antelope does have paid the ultimate price to save the life of a single man. Hurry back to Arscelin in Owl's Nest to ensure that their sacrifice was not made in vain.

What Glitters Always Isn't Gold[]

Journal
  • According to Leleyo, the Holy See of Ishgard seeks volunteers to assist knights dispatched into the Aurum Vale to rescue a high-standing theologian taken captive by imperial soldiers. Travel to the mine's entrance located to the southwest of Camp Ever Lakes in the Coerthas central lowlands and report immediately to Coultenet of House Dzemael.

※ Only parties consisting of 4 to 8 Disciples of War or Magic level 45 or higher will be permitted entry to the Aurum Vale.

  • Your mission is to discreetly make your way to an imperial supply cache beyond the Coincounter's Chest and slay the imperial primus ordinarius stationed within.

※ Only parties of 4 to 8 Disciples of War or Magic level 45 or higher will be permitted entry to the Aurum Vale.
※ The allotted time for the battle is 60 minutes (Earth time).
※ A waiting time applies between challenges, and you will not be permitted to return to the area immediately. (View the Timers tab located under Attributes in the main menu for more information.)

  • You defeated the imperial primus ordinarius, but the missing theologian was nowhere to be found. You did, however, retrieve a mysterious tome from the commander's corpse that may be of interest to the Ishgardian Knights. Return to the entrance of the Aurum Vale and report to Coultenet.

Blood Price[]

Journal
  • Owl's Nest resident Foxe claims his wife has been kidnapped by the Lambs of Dalamud—a barbaric cult known to favor blood sacrifice rituals. He believes that they may have taken her to an ancient stone circle located far to the north on the edge of the Coerthas eastern highlands, and has asked you to search for his wife there in his stead. The site can be accessed via a cavern to the east of Camp Dragonhead. Once through the cavern, continue north until you reach the Sea of Clouds. The cult is said to perform their rituals in the evening, when their savior is strongest, so it may be best to wait until nightfall before investigating the area.
  • While investigating the stone circle, you are attacked by a band of crazed cultists, but skill, cunning, and the blessing of the Twelve see you victorious. After thoroughly searching the zealots' bodies, you find a bloodied wedding band engraved with the names Gertie and...Foxe. Return swiftly to Owl's Nest and inform the old man of his beloved wife's passing.
