Template:Sideicon Chronos, also known as the Cronos, is an enemy from Final Fantasy III that can be encountered in the Cave of Shadows. It divides when hit by a weapon other than a Dark Blade or not inflicted with Paralysis. It is therefore recommended to bring Ancient Swords to combat these enemies. They are moderately powerful, as is the case with all of the other enemies in the cave.

Etymology
Chronos is the personification of Time in pre-Socratic philosophy and later literature. Chronos was imagined as a god, serpentine in form, with three heads—those of a man, a bull, and a lion. Chronos has since antiquity been confused or consciously identified with the Titan Cronus, also known as Cronos, due to the similarity in names. The identification became more widespread during the Renaissance, giving rise to the iconography of Father Time wielding the harvesting scythe.
