Description
Chocobo Wing is an item in Final Fantasy X that can be used in battle by the Use command to grant the Haste status effect to all party members. Its primary use, however, is to customize the Auto-Haste auto-ability to a piece of armor, though doing so is expensive with 80 needed. It can also teach the Hastega ability to an aeon, or be used in a Mix as the second ingredient.
As every character used in the later portions of the game should have Auto-Haste, Chocobo Wings are extremely valuable, but expensive to acquire.
Obtained[]
Chocobo Wings can be obtained quickest by bribing Machea for 360,000 (NTSC)/450,000 (PAL/Int./HD) gil for approximately 60 Chocobo Wings. Though this is pricey, it will bring a player close to the 80 needed to customize the ability to armor, making it time-efficient.
Chocobo Wings are also a rare steal from Cactuar, Fenrir, and Ornitholestes, and two are a common steal from Cactuar King. This is overall a considerably less time-efficient way to acquire them compared to simply farming up gil and bribing Machea, but still viable before doing so is easy.
99 Chocobo Wings are obtained by unlocking Cactuar King in the Monster Arena. After doing so, it is recommended to immediately spend 80 to customize one character's armor, so as to open up inventory slots for more.

Use command[]
With the Use command, Chocobo Wing will apply Haste to the entire party, in a similar fashion to the Hastega spell. As the party has Hastega, and all characters should have Auto-Haste as a priority anyway, expending them in battle is an inefficient use of a Chocobo Wing.
Aeon ability[]
Aeons can be taught the Hastega ability with 16 Chocobo Wings. The only aeons to actually benefit from this are the Magus Sisters, as three appear in battle at once; other aeons appear alone. Even in Magus Sisters giving them Hastega is still an inefficient use of the item compared to the customize ability provided. As an alternative, Chocobo Feathers can be used to teach aeons Haste instead.

80 Chocobo Wings can be used to customize the Auto-Haste ability to armor. Auto-Haste not only permanently grants the Haste effect to the party member and speed their turn rate up to the maximum but enemies cannot remove it thereby giving immunity to Slow. It is therefore an extremely important auto-ability to customize, and should be customized to any piece of armor that will be used in the endgame. It can be given as the first auto-ability to any Tetra piece of armor (with four empty slots).
Mix[]
Chocobo Wing can be mixed with a few of items to create useful outcomes, though it is used exclusively as the second ingredient. It is overall always better to use a different item in its place as Chocobo Wings are valuable.
