A Chocobo Eater (チョコボイーター, Chokobo Ītā?) is a monster with large arms who, as its name suggests, has a taste for chocobo meat. The Chocobo Eater was introduced in Final Fantasy X, and its sequel Final Fantasy X-2 as an Eater-type fiend that resides around Mi'ihen Highroad.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy X[]
The Chocobo Eater that Tidus and company encounter is fought in front of the Rin's Travel Agency on the Mi'ihen Highroad. There are different outcomes to the battle, as the party can push the Chocobo Eater over the ledge, or get pushed themselves.
Final Fantasy X-2[]
Yuna, Rikku, and Paine get tangled with a Chocobo Eater to save their friend Calli. Another Chocobo Eater, a child of the parent Yuna killed, is involved as a suspect for the Mi'ihen Highroad Mystery. Found guilty or not, the fiend is disposed of, though Rin states he admired its determination if found guilty.

Etymology[]
(チョコボール, Chokobōru?). The mascot for this product is Kyoro-chan (キョロちゃん?), a bird who says "kweh".
The name "chocobo" derives from a Japanese brand of chocolate malt ball by Morinaga, ChocoBall食う / くう / kuu is a rough way to say "eat", whose volitional casual form is 食え / くえ / kue ("let's scoff 'em down!"), leading to Kweh!
