Chimera Brain can be problematic, as it absorbs all three main elements (Fire, Ice, and Lightning) and knows the dangerous Frost Blast attack. It can appear after a Trap Door transforms, or appear with a group of other enemies. Though can be a tricky foe, defeating Chimera Brain does give a lot of EXP.
Strategy[]
It is best to cast Bio on the Chimera Brain while Rosa uses Cura on the party to counteract the Blaze attack, and have Kain Jump, while Cecil and Edge attack.
Another effective strategy is to have Rosa cast Berserk on it, so it cannot use its deadly Blaze ability.

Etymology[]
The chimera is a fire-breathing monster, one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. It is commonly represented with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail in Greek mythology. In modern usage, the term chimera is often taken to mean any sort of hybrid between two or more species.
The manticore is a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a lion, the head of a human, and the tail of a scorpion. The name means "man eater".
